Manipur: Commuters happy over decrease in petrol, diesel prices

Manipur Government has slashed the prices of petrol and diesel effective from today. As per the notification issued by the expenditure section of the Finance Department, 22.5 per cent VAT levied earlier on diesel will now be reduced to 18 per cent. While 36.5 per cent VAT levied on petrol (Motor Spirit - MS) will be reduced to 32 per cent. One litre of petrol which cost Rs 106.22 earlier will be now Rs 102.52 and diesel will be Rs 89.60 per litre against Rs 93.25 earlier. “The Government has taken a good decision. It is good for commuters, as it will save fuel cost, will save our money” said a commuter.
