Oslo

Fringed by forests, ringed by hills, surrounded by lakes, Norway’s capital is something of an undiscovered gem. True, it might not quite rank on the same must-see list as London, New York or Paris – or even its Scandi neighbours like Copenhagen or Stockholm – but nearly everyone arriving in Norway will pass through Oslo at some point, and nearly all leave pleasantly surprised.
