Islam is a monotheistic Abrahamic religion founded on the belief in one God (Allah in Arabic). It is based on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, who Muslims believe received revelations from Allah through the angel Gabriel. Islamic practices are guided by the Five Pillars, which are:
