Chevelle Thorne is in a terrible relationship with her boyfriend Bryce, who both physically and mentally abused her. As his final act of assault, he kills himself in front of her. In doing so, he sets her free of him, but of course, she’s not wholly free. There are still stigma of fear that he’s pushed onto her and she suffers nightmares in getting over everything. At this point, she still believes she loves him. After months of brooding and nonsense, she finally begins realizing she needs to move on. After harassing phonecalls from someone who sounds like Bryce, she packs up and moves. A few weeks later she gets a call from her aunt, informing her that her cousin has died in an accident, so, she goes to Vegas. There, she stumbles across a very charming young man by the name of Wake and realizes this could be a new beginning.
