His slide guitar, harmonica and plaintive voice won over director Atom Egoyan, who hand-picked some of his songs for the soundtracks to his films, Calendar and Exotica. Fusing the raw energy of blues with rock'n'roll power, Studebaker John came up with a Chicago blues that rubs elbows with boogie, swamp, swing and Latin grooves, thrilling fans from here to Europe.
