The Pilgrimage

In the province of Dersim/Tunceli totally 18 dams and hydroelectric power plants (HEPP) are planned of which two are realized. When the first one, Uzuncayir damin had completed in 18th August 2009 it has caused a big flooding through the 100 m high Uzuncayir dam on the Munzur River what created a 20 km long lake up to the city. The film shows local people waiting helplessly for that flooding coming to their most important praying and holly place on Gola Cetu pilgrimage. During this a 13- days long waiting, they could nothing but sometimes pray, sometimes cries, sometimes revolt. Regisseur: Ozan Munzur
